Great Minds Think Alike
I had the pleasure of being at a writers workshop on Saturday Sept 19, 2009. I always enjoy being in a room full of fabulous people. There were three presenters that did a great job. First was Jen Bourn of http://www.bourncreative.com. She is a very savvy business woman and has a great talent for web design and all aspects of online marketing. She gave an awesome presentation. Additionally Stephanie Chandler of http://www.stephaniechandler.com gave a presentation with many tips from publishing your book to marketing your book. She really knows her stuff. Anyone thinking of writing a book needs to seek her out and do business with Stephanie. Jerry Kennedy gave us great ideas about selling and motovation http://www.motivation101audio.com/m101/ .
This event was hosted by Bill Walker at http://www.simpleindie.com. They gave all of us writers and want to be authors lots of good information on the process of writing to publishing to marketing our books. Several great authors served on the panel for the Q & A. Two of them were Rick Cooper from http://www.thepdapro.com and Joel Canfield from http://www.joelcanfield.com both authors with experience and wisdom to share.
Along with all the great content I saw several of my friends who are successful business women. Karen Keeney with http://www.karenlkeeney.coma women’s business coach, Sue Canfield with http://awesomeassistant.info/aa/ one of the great virtual assistants around. I got to spend some time with two of the best organizers you will find, Natalie Conrad from http://www.organizedhabits.com/ and Kelli Wilson from http://www.asimpleplanconsulting.com.
Then I bumped in to my friend Rebecca Johnson who helps us all find fabulous events. She runs the companyGet networking Now. You can find her and tons of events at http://www.sacgnn.com/.
What a great room of people to be a part of and develope those relationships. I am blessed to know these people and call them my friends. Please check out their websites and know you will get quality experience and professionalism whith each one of them. It is a wonderful thing to have so many great minds around me in my circle of friends. I am blessed!
Is Social Media just a fad or here to stay?
I have to say when I was first introduced to social media “MySpace” I thought it was kind of a fun thing for the kids. The when all these other sites were popping up like plaxo, friend feed, namez and so many others it just got to be overwhelming.
Anyone with me on this? Near the same time my daughter (now grown) was telling me about MySpace and showing me how to use it, I am feeling like this will be a waste of my time. Then I heard about Facebook and remember thinking it was more for people of my age and more business minded people.
I thought, “how can these people spend their time on these kinds of sights?” Fortunately for me about 2 years ago I had found myself in a group of people much smarter than I and listened to what they were saying. It was clear to me after listening to those I respected as knowledgeable and forward thinking that I needed to figure this out and get on this band wagon.
If you are one of those who still isn’t sure about this Social Media movement, here is a video you may want to watch.

The Value of a Mastermind Group
We all came together a little more than 1 year ago. I believe that in the begginning we were all there to help each other in our business challenges and to share tips, resources and praise reports.
We transformed from that to writing this great book called Seize Your Opportunities – How to live your life without limits. This book is a must read and a valuable resource for all small business owners.
Another benefit that has come from the group is that many of the members are doing business with each other or referring business to one of the members.
The nicest surprise that has come from this adventure for me are the great relationships that are being formed through our meeting. I am hopeful that those business relationships will move in to great friendships and create life long valuable connections as we explore new business avenues together.
Thanks to all of you for being a part of my success. Especially thank you for the friendships we are forming through this process.
If you want information on creating your own group check out this site with free resources www.powerpartnergroups.com
Feeling gratitude for my blessings. Joy Klepac www.joyklepac.com
Technology – I love it!
I went to a great meeting today. This is a technology group that my friend Todd Lay from Simple Back Office told me about. It is a great place to exchange ideas and learn great tips for anyone who want to be more “techie”.
I am fumbling my way through but picking up more and more great tips as the months go by.
Rob Saxe from ReMax Gold was there teaching us all about blogging and seo optimization. I love learning this struff. He is a great teacher and is a wealth of knowledge.
Gary Kramer from RealBiz360.com heads up this group and always has some great tidbits to share.
It is on the first Friday of every month at 8:00 am. They meet in Rocklin at the Placer County Association of Realtors building. I think that is correct anyway if you want more info there is a yahoo group called Placer Techie Group. Come and learn or bring ideas to share.
Are you struggling with being romantic? 6 Great Tips to help turn up the flame
I am a big fan of romance and being happly married. I know it takes work but we can all do a lot to treat our spouse special. Here are a few tips to putting romance back into your marriage. These are especially for men out there because they do seem to have a bit more trouble than women in the romance department.
Men women will love these tips. Also women if you are reading these, turn it around and do them for your husband. All in all make each other feel as special as they are to you.
Here you go, enjoy!
1. Make reservations at a restaurant and even throw in some movie or theater tickets if there is a good show in town. Tell your wife what to wear, but tell her nothing about where you are going. This is sure to sweep her off of her feet.
2. Give her flowers for no reason. Women love to be surprised. If it is an important date, like a birthday or anniversary, flowers are expected, but unexpected flowers are one of the most romantic things a husband can do.
3. Touch your wife frequently in a non-sexual manner. A brief caress, shoulder rub, or even hug can mean so much to your wife, especially if it is not given because you are soliciting something in the bedroom.
4. Call your wife for no reason, just to say “I love you.” If you know she is having a rough or stressful day, call to see how she is and remind her how special she is to you.
5. Leave notes around your house. If you are not a good writer, buy cards with sayings that reflect your feelings. If your wife is headed out of town, tuck little notes into her suitcase for her to find.
6. Remember something important to your wife and follow through on it. If you hear your wife mention that she would like to have her hair highlighted, take the initiative and buy her a gift card to her favorite salon. You can then arrange a time when she can go to have the work done. This will show your wife that you are a romantic husband because you pay attention to her wants.
